Organic

Is California Olive Oil Copacker an organic facility? We have been a certified organic handler since 2014.

Who is your certifying agent? We are certified through CCOF, California Certified Organic Farmers.

I have a certified organic product that I would like you to bottle. Before we can bottle your organic product/s your labels must be added to our Organic System Plan. This process can take up to 4 weeks. CCOF does offer a “Rush Service” for a fee if time is a factor.

What do you need from me to add our label to your Organic System Plan? We will need the company’s organic certificate, the product list, and a draft of your product label.

Where do I get the company’s organic certificate? When you purchase your organic product, you should ask for the company’s organic certificate and product list. They should provide both documents to you. It is important for you to keep both documents as proof your product is organic.

Is there any important information I should know about designing my organic label? Yes, there is certain information that you need on your label and the placement of this information is important. Incorrect information and placement will make your label non-compliant. Reach out to us, we are happy to provide you with this information. DO NOT PRINT your label until you have received notice that your label is compliant.

I would like to use the USDA Organic seal on my label. Where do I get it? Upon request, we can provide you with a high-resolution logo for your label. It is important to use the USDA seal with the proper colors. The USDA provides two color options (black /white or green/black/white). Changing the color to match your label is not permitted. The USDA Organic Seal is an official mark protected by federal regulation and overseen by the National Organic Program (NOP), a program in the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service.

My product/s are already certified do you still need this information? Yes, we will still need to have your label added to our Organic System Plan. Each company that handles your organic product has to add your product to their organic system plan.

I have a certified organic oil and added spices to make a dipping oil is my oil still organic? This depends. If you have a certified organic oil and added certified organic spices then you still have an organic product. If you have an organic oil and add conventional (non-organic) spices to your product it is no longer organic.
